Cheddar Gorge. Not just Britain’s biggest gorge. Not just an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but also home to some of the best rock climbing and adventure caving this side of the Atlantic.

A caving adventure you aren’t likely to forget. You’ll head into a real caving expedition deep within the Mendip hills, crawling and squeezing and climbing on a subterranean adventure. You’ll be given all the gear you need and an instructor to teach you how to use it.

Bristol Bubble Ball will change the way you see Football forever!

What is it?
Bristol Bubble ball is football with one fantastic twist, all the players are strapped inside full-body zorbs that let you get kicked, knocked, bounced and flipped through the air trying to get a touch of the ball. Think football, but with the level of aggression of Rugby. If you can’t stand regular football, or just want a great excuse to bash your mates around without getting penalised, then this is definitely for you! Extremely fun, extremely silly and great exercise, this is a must-try for everyone.

Get on yer bike

Ask anyone who lives here and they’ll tell you, Bristol isn’t flat! That’s why we’re home to some of the best cycling routes in the country and why we’re the first city in the UK to win the prestigious European Green Capital award, so why not take advantage? And more importantly, get your adrenaline fix while you’re at it!

What is it?
Cycling in Bristol is one of the best ways to see our amazing city and the surrounding country. There are loads of different routes that cater to every skill level from beginner to experienced riders. But for those looking to really get their blood pumping, nothing beats the mountain biking trails in Ashton Court and Leighwoods, where the more adventurous are guaranteed some tough climbs, rocky descents and as much air as they can handle.

All you need is a cycle and you’re good to go! You can chart your own route or check out some of these rides curated by local cyclists.  

The Great Escape

The clever creative designers have been hard at work creating three thrilling adventure rooms to choose from. Bust through the Bunker Blowout, escape the abandoned office or beat the slightly harder hostage hotel (where you’ll be handcuffed in pairs!).  

The thrilling puzzles and complex challenges will get your heart racing and your brain buzzing as your group tries to escape the room before the timer runs out!

We’ve got the WORLD’S BIGGEST TRAMPOLINE PARK. Need I say more?

What is it?
AirHop Bristol houses over 135 interconnected trampolines, so you can literally bounce off the walls to your heart’s content. There’s a bunch of different games and areas from foam pit lanes, dodgeball courts, a Total Wipeout zone and loads more. So if you fancy burning a few calories (up to 1000 in an hour!) or just want to work on your parkour flips, there’s no excuses for not checking out AirHop.

Play a round

If you know the difference between a bogey and a back-nine – or would like to, then golfing is definitely worth checking out. We know what you’re thinking, golf isn’t exactly adrenaline fuelled. But that’s just because you’ve never played with high enough stakes. Take a friend, bet that night’s substantial bar tab on the game, and tell us again how it’s lacking adrenaline on the 18th hole.

What is it?
Bristol is home to some of the most beautiful golf courses in England and has an excellent range of clubs. If you’re looking for some luscious tree lined courses check out the like of the Clevedon, Filton or Henbury. If you’d rather practice your skills, check out the amazing virtual golf simulator in the city. Then you’ll be ready when it comes time to decide who settles that bar tab.

Take to the water

The river Avon isn’t just extremely beautiful, it’s also extremely fun. And right on your doorstep it provides the perfect opportunity for some Stand up Paddle boarding!

What is it?
Stand Up Paddle boarding (or SUP) is a fun activity, perfect for everyone. It’s really easy to pick up and there are plenty of taster sessions on offer to teach you the basics from getting started kneeling down and working your way to standing up and paddling. Before you know it, you’ll be gliding majestically down the harbour on your own harbourside adventure. Or falling over into the drink – but that’s all part of the fun!

Glow in the dark!

The UKs biggest illuminated night run is headed to Bristol this April!

What is it?
Ready, Steady Glow! Is a glow in the dark, neon running event for everyone. You’ve got themed running areas throughout the 5 & 10k course that takes you all over our awesome city and every area has its own musical entertainment, design and lighting. There’s even an ‘Afterglow’ party where you can take your UV-clad-glowing-self to make the most of that runner’s high when you cross that finish line.

How do I get involved?
Ready, Steady, Glow is a ticketed event so you’ll need to book a place. You can join the 5 or 10k race by heading over to their website here.
